movements which combine to work the whole body, co-coordinating the upper and
lower musculature with the body's centre. At Arch health and fitness the Pilates instructors have trained with the Australian Pilates and Physiotherapy Institute. (www.ausphysio.com). The institute is firmly established as the leading force in the delivery of safe and effective Pilates teacher training for physiotherapists and rehabilitation therapists- and is now recognised as a quality standard for Pilates in physiotherapy. Gp, Physiotherapy, Osteopathy and Chiropractic referrals are all welcome.
At the Arch you can enrole for the popular six-week beginners course where you can learn how to activate the correct muscles confidently and apply that to the Pilates method. The six-week course is aimed at complete beginners and takes them through to intermediate level. You then have the choice of joining an intermediate course of 6 weeks before joining the maintenance Pilates class. Alternatively if you have previously completed a beginner course in Pilates you may join one of the maintenance classes (please see the timetable for details). All classes are kept to a maximum size of 8 people so that the instructor can ensure you are exercising safely and correctly.
